During the winter and spring of 2017, the Project Management Division will improve a sidewalk along a portion of Old Lynchburg Road in Albemarle County. VDOT’s Revenue Sharing Program has funded this project. The map below shows the location for this project in yellow.
The scope of the project includes Improvements to the existing asphalt walkway (resurfacing and replacement) along Old Lynchburg Road from Fifth Street Extended to Doncaster Lane; painted pedestrian crosswalks (including to Region Ten Building); and pedestrian signage. This walkway is important because the Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) bus route no longer stops at the Region Ten building, but at the corner of Old Lynchburg Road and Fifth Street.
