Boating/River Access

Boating -- River AccessThere's more to Albemarle County lakes and beaches than swimming.  Albemarle has well-maintained boat launches available at Beaver Creek Lake, Chris Green Lake, Walnut Creek Lake and Totier Creek Park. U.S. Coast Guard approved boats and crafts are welcome on the lakes, though gasoline powered motors are prohibited. Electric motors are allowed. A Virginia State Fishing License is required for those who seek to fish, and the lakes are stocked with ample supplies of sunfish, channel catfish, and largemouth bass.

In addition to boating in one of the County's many lakes, you can access the Rivanna River at Darden Towe Park. Whether you enjoy swimming, boating, or fishing, come visit our lakes this summer.
