Albemarle County Board of Supervisors Shares Legislative Priorities with State Legislators

On Thursday, September 5, 2019, the Board of Supervisors shared its legislative priorities for the 2020 legislative session with the state elected officials representing our community - Senator Deeds, Delegate Toscano, Delegate Bell, and Mr. Snider of Senator Reeves' office. The priorities included In-kind Resources to Volunteer Firefighting and Emergency Service Providers, Local Control Over Monuments and Memorials for War Veterans, Prohibition on Carrying Specified Loaded Weapons in Public Areas, Increasing the Minimum Tree Canopy Preserved During Development, Equal Taxing Authority for Counties, and Impact Fees, as well as a request for a commitment of $15 million in state funding to support the development of the Biscuit Run Park.
