This Friday, Albemarle County Local Government to Observe Juneteenth

Albemarle County administrative functions will pause on Friday, June 19th, in recognition of Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, all slaves in the United States were freed; Juneteenth is a celebration of this freedom and is a day for reflection on the evils of slavery and on the contributions that African Americans have made to this country.

Full services will resume on Monday, June 22nd.
Learn more about Juneteenth here.
Some customer service functions will remain available:
  • Voter Registration will continue to assist customers with in-person absentee voting at COB 5th.
  • Community Development will be open to customers from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
  • Tax collections at our drop boxes and payment kiosks will continue. While you cannot make these payments inside our building, an ambassador at our visitor's entrance will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Please remember - you are required to wear a face mask when entering any County building.
