Board/Commission Name Thomas Jefferson Emergency Medical Services Council 
Introduction/Overview/Duties Responsible for the implementation and coordination of comprehensive emergency medical services system for Planning District Ten. 
Length of Term Each agency holding a seat on the Council's Board of Directors have a 3 year term beginning January 1. 
Frequency/Times for Meetings Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every odd month at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson EMS Council office, 2205 Fontaine Ave Suite 303, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Unless notified by the Executive Director of TJEMS. 
Membership The Council consists of three members from local jurisdictions in Planning District Ten. One member shall be a representative of the governing body, one member shall be a consumer of such services. In addition, the University of Virginia Medical Center shall have four members. Initial terms of service are one, two and three years. Thereafter, members are appointed for three years. Council members are eligible for reappointment and serve without compensation. 
Qualifications The only qualification needed to be a Board member is to be appointed by their EMS agency, Hospital or Governing Body, etc.
