The Solid Waste Alternatives Advisory Committee (SWAAC) was established in Spring 2016 as a standing advisory committee to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. The Committee provides information to the Board in a semi-annual update and an annual report to include a thorough budgetary and environmental impact analysis of the Committee’s recommended policy implementation. SWAAC's focus is to provide program support for public education and engagement for sustainable materials management.
