The Office of the County Attorney provides legal advice and counsel to the boards, commissions, committees, and departments of Albemarle County. The office coordinates Freedom of Information Act requests, enforces the County Code, and represents the County in civil litigation.

The Office does not represent citizens of the County in private legal matters and does not give legal advice to citizens of the County, including questions about the County code. However, some of the resources available at our State Legal Links and Local Legal Links pages may helpful to you.
