The County Executive Department is the administrative hub for the day-to-day operations of Albemarle County Local Government. It is managed by the County Executive, who is appointed by the elected Board of Supervisors.
The Department has two divisions, which work together on the following.
- Policy development and implementation
- Ensuring excellence in public service
- Fostering partnerships with the community stakeholders
- Preparing and managing the budget
- Implementing strategic initiatives
- Communications and public engagement
