FY24 was a year of flourishing connections within Albemarle County. From access to affordable broadband internet to new sidewalks and an on-demand public transportation system, county residents have access to a host of new and improved means of connection.

Infrastructure & Placemaking

  • The Department of Finance & Budget ensured that 100% of strategic financial analysis milestones were met for funding County transit programs.
  • Community Development successfully presented both the Barracks Road and Ivy Road Pipeline studies to the Board of Supervisors for information.
  • The Ivy Road Pipeline Study Working Group held three of four targeted meetings with stakeholders to address traffic challenges.
  • New sidewalks were constructed along Ivy Road, Rio Road, Avon Street, and Route 250 West-Crozet to improve multimodal connectivity.
