The County has seen great success in our FY24 goals to maintain and improve the quality of life for our residents. From community planning to economic development to parks and multimodal transportation, Albemarle County has delivered on its commitments and made significant progress towards broader plans and goals to improve our quality of life.

Quality of Life

  • Parks & Recreation had 5,231 program participants. 
  • Volunteers gave 1,850 hours in service to the county's parks and trails.
  • Three new greenway/trail connections that connect to and provide multimodal transportation were completed: Lindy Bain Loop Trail from Old Trail to Henley MS/Brownsville ES; Foothill Crossing connection to Crozet Connector Trail; New spur trail connection to Old Mills Trail from Presidio (Pantops)
  • 38 properties were evaluated for potential new urban parks and greenways.
