Vegetation out-of-control on a public road? VDOT can help you out. Report a problem to VDOT online.

VDOT’s primary goal with vegetation control is safety, not aesthetics. In order to address the aesthetic aspect of roadway maintenance, the County maintains landscape and turf along entrance corridors and other designated public roads. If you see vegetation issues on a public road that are not being addressed, reach out to us at FESinquiry@albemarle.org or 434-296-5816.

Overgrowth (Ordinance Violation)

If you need to report an ordinance violation regarding vegetation overgrowth, please contact our Department of Community Development at 434-296-5832.

When Community Development sites a property owner for an ordinance violation and the property owner fails to take appropriate action, the Public Works Division will arrange for the cited property to be cut at property owner’s expense. The Public Works Division will only take action after a report has been forwarded from the Community Development Department.
