The Purchasing Manual is an overview of the County’s policies and procedures used when purchasing goods and services. It is available as a resource for citizens and businesses.

Through the focus of integrity of the procurement process and ensuring all vendors and County personnel are treated equitably and professionally, we support the County mission to enhance the well-being and quality of life for all citizens through the provision of the highest level of public service consistent with the prudent use of public funds. All expenditures of public funds must be made under the authority and procedures of the purchasing provisions of Virginia law and the Albemarle County Purchasing Manual, which is informed by the Virginia Public Procurement Act
