Thank you for your interest in potentially renting your unit to tenants through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. Property owners who rent to HCV participants not only provide a vital community service. They also receive real economic benefit in the form of:

  • New, reliable rental income streams.
  • Lower leasing costs.
  • Free advertising for your properties, and available units.

The HCV program uses subsidies from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, to cover a portion of the monthly rent for lower-income families and individuals. Because of this subsidy, landlords who work with the ACOH receive a reliable income for their rental properties even difficult economic times.

Communities of Opportunity Tax Credit Program (COTCP)
The Communities of Opportunity Tax Credit Program (COTCP) is a Virginia income tax credit program to decentralize poverty by enhancing low-income Virginians’ access to affordable housing units in higher income areas. The COTCP provides Virginia income tax credits to landlords with property in eligible census tracts who participate in the Housing Choice Voucher program.
