Supplemental Food Assistance Program (SNAP) assists individuals and families who are unable to purchase enough food for themselves.

If you choose to fill out a paper application, we encourage you to turn in the application the same day that you contact the agency. You may return the application in person, by fax to 434-972-4080, or by postal mail to the address above.
Different eligibility rules apply to SNAP and other programs, so you should apply even if you have not been found eligible for other benefits. SNAP benefits eligibility is based on financial and non-financial criteria. Verification of some information may need to be provided. It is necessary to provide all required verifications to have eligibility determined.
Authorized Retailers
SNAP can be used like cash to buy eligible food items from authorized retailers. Authorized retailers will display either the Quest logo or a picture of a Virginia EBT card.
