Our Middle School Sports Program is held at all 5 Albemarle County Middle Schools (Homeschoolers are welcome as well). This popular after-school program is a partnership between Albemarle County Middle Schools and Parks & Recreation.

Sports Physicals

Winter Sports

Soccer

Co-ed teams play on Mondays & Wednesdays, Nov 11-Dec 18
Games are played after school 4:10pm - 5:15 pm (no practices)
Teams are selected on the 1st day. Games begin on the 2nd day.
Cost: $45
Burley, Henley, Journey, Lakeside, Walton

Flag Football

Co-ed Teams play on Tuesdays & Thursdays, Nov 12-Dec 19
Games played after school 4:10pm - 5:15pm.
Teams selected on the 1st day. Games begin on the 2nd day. No practices, just games.
Cost: $45

Winter Sports/Girls Volleyball

Girls Volleyball

Volleyball will be played on Monday/Wednesday, or Tuesday/Thursday (depending on team)
Jan 21-March 20, 2025
Games/practice will be played after school 4:10pm - 5:45pm.
Cost: $90
Participating Schools: Burley, Henley, Journey, Lakeside, Walton

Boys & Girls Basketball

Boys practice and play games on Mondays & Wednesdays, September 11-October 23, 4:10pm - 5:45pm, game days run longer
Girls practice and play games on Tuesdays & Thursdays, September 12-October 24, 4:10pm - 5:45pm, game days run longer
Cost: $90, includes Team T-shirt, 4 games
Schedules:

Tennis

Boys & Girls practice together on Mondays & Wednesdays, September 9-October 17, 4:10pm - 5:30pm
Tennis Instruction: Learn strokes, grips and basic skills. Lessons will incorporate fun games.
Matches between other schools TBA, optional.
Cost: $75, includes Team T-shirt

Cross Country

Boys & Girls practice together on Monday & Wednesdays or Tuesday & Thursday September 9-October 26th (depends on school), 4:10pm - 5:30pm
Cost: $75, includes Team T-shirt
Cross Country Meets at Monticello High School

Spring Sports

Track

Track will be played on Monday/Wednesday, April 7-May 21, 2025.
Games/practice will be played after school 4:10pm - 5:45pm.
Cost: $55
Two Track Meets - TBA
