Northern+Piedmont+Native+Plant+Guide+-+2nd+edition+2024Albemarle County is committed to promoting the use of plants native to our region. Since Europeans first settled this area, native plant communities have been disrupted and fragmented. Reintroducing native plants, in their associated plant communities, supports biodiversity and strengthens ecosystem services. Shifting your landscape to native plants can be cost-effective, reduce long-term maintenance, and create a historic sense of place. We hope you enjoy the resources we have provided.
