Background Investigations & Recruiting Team
The Background Investigations & Recruiting Team is composed of sworn officers that assist the team as a collateral duty. In the interest of public safety, people’s backgrounds need to be checked before they are permitted to assume positions where trustworthiness is important. Background Investigators are responsible for conducting and documenting an objective assessment of a candidate’s suitability for employment with the department. Personnel selected to the team attend initial training along with continued educations to ensure we are meeting the needs of 21st century policing.
Firearms Team

The mission of the Firearms Team is to provide comprehensive firearms training using the latest weapon tactics and instructional techniques in a safe environment for all members of the department. This team is also tasked with providing officers training in marksmanship and weapons handling skills.

Peer Support Team
Policing is a demanding, often stressful career. Daily, officers can be exposed to difficult situations. They are called upon to make life and death decisions in a split-second and the margins for error are slim. The Peer Support Team members have been trained both regionally and nationally to provide encouragement during times of need, whether to members of our agency, regional partners, or beyond. Our mission is to provide words of encouragement to those who will listen. We are committed to the wellness of the members of our agency and continue to place officer wellness at the forefront of our mission.
